Description: The son of an Israeli mother and Palestinian father, Juliano Mer Khamis helms this bitter sweet documentary about the life and passion of his mother Arna Mer Khamis. Arna’s long-term opposition to Israeli occupation and support of Palestinian rights led her to establish a theater and arts program for Palestinian children in the Jenin refugee camp where a very mutual love and devotion between Arna and the children flourished. The narrative switches back and forth from the enthusiasm and creative energy of the children during the Oslo years in the 1990s and the tragic fate of many of them during the Second Intifada.
